Dubai, UAE: Kraken Exchange has secured Full Market Approval from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), paving the way for the cryptocurrency exchange to expand its digital asset services in the emirate.
The regulatory approval will allow Kraken to introduce new services tailored to the UAE market, including account funding in UAE dirhams (AED), AED-denominated cryptocurrency trading pairs, and on-chain staking services.
According to the company, these services are expected to become available to eligible users in Dubai over the coming weeks, strengthening its presence in the Middle East’s growing digital asset sector.
The development comes as Dubai continues to establish itself as a regional hub for cryptocurrency trading and blockchain innovation, supported by a regulatory framework designed to oversee virtual asset service providers.
Kraken has also been expanding its offerings beyond conventional cryptocurrency trading.
The exchange previously introduced opportunities for retail investors to request shares in Oura’s initial public offering (IPO) at the launch price through its xStocks platform.
According to the company’s announcement, the initiative enabled individual investors to access tokenized equities linked to the Oura offering under terms comparable to those available to institutional participants.
These developments reflect Kraken’s broader strategy to diversify its digital asset products and expand access to investment opportunities across traditional and blockchain-based financial markets.
With its latest regulatory approval in Dubai, Kraken is positioned to strengthen its regional operations while introducing additional cryptocurrency trading and investment services to UAE customers.
