Bahrain: INFINIOS has officially gone live with Mastercard’s stablecoin settlement infrastructure, becoming the first issuer in Bahrain and among the first fintech companies in the Middle East to enable settlement through stablecoins. The milestone is expected to improve transaction efficiency by offering faster and more streamlined settlement for digital payments.
The launch supports Mastercard’s wider regional strategy of integrating regulated blockchain technology into mainstream payment systems. By connecting traditional financial networks with tokenized digital assets, the initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of secure and compliant blockchain-based payment solutions.
INFINIOS was chosen as one of Mastercard’s early live partners after meeting strict regulatory, operational, and technical requirements, demonstrating its readiness to support enterprise-grade digital settlement services.
Sherif Abdelsalam, Chief Executive Officer of INFINIOS, said the integration represents a major step toward transforming the way money moves. He noted that stablecoin settlement offers faster, more transparent, and digitally focused payment capabilities while reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a leader in financial innovation and payment modernization.
The collaboration also lays the groundwork for introducing round-the-clock (24/7) settlement services over time. Once fully implemented, the capability is expected to reduce inefficiencies in cross-border and institutional payments while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Mastercard has identified INFINIOS as one of its first Middle East partners for stablecoin settlement under its broader blockchain and digital asset expansion strategy. The partnership further highlights Bahrain’s growing reputation as a regional fintech hub that supports emerging financial technologies.
Saud Swar, Mastercard’s Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, and the Levant, said the company is working with strategic partners to accelerate stablecoin adoption and drive greater digitalization across financial services. He added that the partnership with INFINIOS will help establish trusted, enterprise-grade digital settlement infrastructure throughout the Middle East.
With the platform now live, INFINIOS aims to strengthen its role in the next generation of payment infrastructure, providing banks, fintech firms, and businesses with access to Mastercard’s global payment network while leveraging the speed, efficiency, and programmability offered by blockchain-based digital money.
