The Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA), a non-profit initiative founded by Bybit to promote responsible blockchain innovation, has partnered with the United Nations Development Programme’s Alternative Finance Lab (UNDP AltFinLab) to launch the inaugural Blockchain Impact Forum. Scheduled for November 4–5, 2025, in Copenhagen, Denmark, the two-day event aims to showcase how blockchain technology can drive sustainable and systemic global change.
A Platform for Real-World Impact
Unlike typical Web3 conferences that focus on speculation or technology trends, the Blockchain Impact Forum is positioned as a collaborative platform where policymakers, innovators, and development experts will explore how blockchain can address pressing social and environmental challenges. The event will highlight blockchain’s potential to enhance transparency, improve efficiency in humanitarian aid, and unlock new models of trust between governments, private enterprises, and communities.
The forum will feature two distinct days.
- Day 1 is an invite-only gathering that will bring together UN officials, regulators, and blockchain pioneers for closed-door sessions, fireside chats, and policy discussions. These sessions will feed directly into the BGA’s first-ever Impact Report, a comprehensive study examining how blockchain technologies are being used globally to advance social good and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
- Day 2, open to the public, will be held at T13 Nordhavn in Copenhagen. It will showcase emerging blockchain solutions from the BGA Incubation Programme and the SDG Blockchain Accelerator, featuring live project pitches, networking sessions, and a closing awards ceremony recognizing innovators using blockchain for societal impact.
Recognizing Blockchain Innovators
The Blockchain for Good Awards 2025 will be a major highlight of the event’s second day, celebrating individuals and organizations leading projects that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The awards aim to honor initiatives that demonstrate blockchain’s tangible role in improving governance, boosting financial inclusion, and enabling sustainability-focused innovations.
The Forum is supported by a robust lineup of sponsors, including Bybit EU, GSR Foundation, Xion Foundation, Abu Dhabi Blockchain Center, and Mantle Network as title sponsors. Additional sponsors such as FLock.io, Hetu Protocol, and Masverse are also contributing to the event.
A Vision for Responsible Innovation
Commenting on the initiative, Ben Zhou, CEO of Bybit and the driving force behind the Blockchain for Good Alliance, said:
“Blockchain for Good is not just an idea; it’s a systems-level shift. Our mission is to build bridges between technologists, governments, and communities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. This forum marks an important step in demonstrating how blockchain can be applied to solve real problems, not just theoretical ones.”
Zhou’s remarks underscore the Alliance’s broader vision to move beyond the hype of cryptocurrency markets and position blockchain as a tool for social innovation and institutional collaboration.
A Joint Effort for Sustainable Progress
The partnership between BGA and UNDP AltFinLab highlights the growing convergence between the blockchain industry and international development organizations. UNDP AltFinLab has long been at the forefront of experimenting with alternative financial models to improve inclusion and resilience in developing economies. Through this collaboration, both organizations aim to connect blockchain builders with institutional demand, helping governments and NGOs access solutions that can improve transparency, accountability, and access to essential services.
The Blockchain Impact Forum will also serve as a launchpad for partnerships, enabling developers and institutions to co-create solutions that address key global challenges such as climate action, digital identity, and equitable access to financial systems.
